1978/80. Session work for Elton John, Al Stewart, Gary Brooker & Cliff Richard etc.

1980 Recorded first solo album with Glyn Johns producing and formed `studio` band, to be named `Lazy Racer`. We recorded two albums for A&M in the Bahamas also with Glyn at the helm.

1981. Embarked on a world tour with Elton John, but he decided to retire mid-tour and cancelled the remainder. We also recorded his album `The Fox` in LA. Went off with singer Murray Head for a marathon tour of France and returned to the UK for sessions with Gary Brooker, Elkie Brooks, Johnny Bristol & Gilbert o`Sullivan and others.

1982. Recorded `Staying Alive` film soundtrack and Dionne Warwick album `Heartbreaker` both in Florida with Barry Gibb. Continued on 64 date world tour as part of The Mike Oldfield Band. Played on `Islands in the Stream` for Dolly & Kenny, `Blue Hat for a Blue Day` Nick Heyward and `Cry me a River` Mari Wilson.

Began writing and recording production music in earnest.

1984. Sessions for Maggie Reilly, China Crisis and Paul Carrack. Recruited to The Roger Waters Band for his  first solo tour `Pros & Cons of Hitch-hiking` with Eric Clapton also on guitar.

1985. Joined Eric`s band for a 74 date world tour that included the `Live Aid` concert from Philadelphia.

1986. Sessions for Jennifer Rush, Five Star, Mick Jagger, Paul Carrack, Cliff Richard & Paul McCartney. Also did a long stint at the Dominion Theatre for Cliff in his musical `Time`.

1987/89. Hired to join Pink Floyd on a massive 16-month double world tour as second guitar to David Gilmour. When not with PF I was also part of the group Mike & the Mechanics for recording and touring.

Joined Steve Nieve as part of the house band for The Jonathan Ross Show on Channel 4.

1990. Loads more session work. The John Lennon Tribute Concert from Liverpool. Pink Floyd at Knebworth Silver Clef Awards. More Jonathan Ross broadcasts and a US tour with Procol Harum.

1992. Joined Tom Jones on his UK tour (including Glastonbury Festival) and recording of his TV series `The Right Time` with many guest performers including Stevie Wonder. Toured Scandinavia as MD for Maggie Reilly. More Jonathan Ross and sessions including Celine Dion, The Proclaimers, Paul Young, Pink Floyd & Maggie Reilly.

1994. 110 stadium shows around the world with Pink Floyd (inc. live album `Pulse`). Sessions in the UK with Julian Lennon, Madonna, Maggie Reilly and Richard Wright etc.

1995. Dates with Mike & the Mechanics, and European tours with Paul Carrack, solo this time, both as a duo and band.
1996. 32 dates with Mike & the Mechanics around the UK. Also on tour with Paul Carrack in Germany and Spain. Sessions for Joe Cocker and David Essex etc.

1997. Decided to leave London for a change! Found a house in Cornwall in need of renovation and moved to The Duchy, where I have lived ever since.

Since then I have played for Al Stewart on his UK visits, mainly written and recorded my production music in my home studio, and got involved with a few `one-off` gigs such as the `Live 8` concert from Londons` Hyde Park in 2005, a TV/radio recording with 10cc in Belgium etc.

Not a bad life!
