Born and raised in Cambridge UK 1949
Played in various local bands until I got a job with the Jackie Lomax Band and moved to London in 1968. We were based at Apples HQ in Savile Row where we rehearsed. Recorded a couple of singles for the Apple label and played some gigs including the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool. Played my first official recording session for the duo Peter & Gordon at Abbey Road studio 2. I received my £9.00 session fee in a brown envelope with a window in it!

1969. I joined the group Juniors Eyes. We toured constantly all over Europe and the UK including a month long stint at The Star Club in Hamburg. The band were introduced to David Bowie via producer Tony Visconti and we took part in recording his first `proper` album at Trident Studios Soho. Played with David on a Scottish tour, a concert at The Purcell Room and some radio broadcasts.
1970. Juniors Eyes disbanded and I formed the country music influenced group `Quiver` with Canadian Cal Batchelor. Played wherever we could and recorded two albums for Warner Bros. I started to get more calls for recording sessions (Iain Matthews, Al Stewart & Jonathan Kelly).
1972/73. Joined up with The Sutherland Brothers Began having some success with our first bunch of recordings together.
1974. Supported Elton John on a 60 date tour of USA (`Yellow Brick Road`) with our album `Lifeboat` in the US charts.
1975. Our first big hit `Arms of Mary`. I left the band to concentrate on freelance work.
1976. Toured America with the Al Stewart Band and continued my studio work in Florida with Barry Gibb and his buddies. Hits for Andy Gibb followed and I joined him the following year for a 12 week US tour. (Continued)
